Bubbling Spring
I am facinated with this accupressure point. having fun this spring with all the puns fully intended. Kidney 1, also known as the Bubbling Spring, is a vital acupressure point located on the sole of the foot. Stimulating this point is believed to help nourish the kidney meridian, promote grounding, and invigorate the body's energy flow. By applying gentle pressure to Kidney 1, one may experience increased vitality, mental clarity, and overall well-being.
The thing is, this is more than an accupressure point that you or someone else presses for health benefits. I learned from the lovey Mary Bond about the importnace of this spot for keeping that “spring in your step”. In order for you to have a spring in your step you need to play with your fascia to keep it hydrated. Fascia is responsible for that spring, the etentsion, the recoil. that is our super power as humans and where we store energy. Fascia is not …. slime. It’s actually got a crimp to it because of something called elastin fibrils. These are elastic and lets us move in a way and spring back to our usuall posture and its the usual posture that we spring back to like a memory.
Walking well requires us to have that spring in the step, located in the transverse arch. The foot transitions from the heel, midfoot, and then the toes, especially focusing on the big toe—deemed as one of the most crucial joints in the body. It is essential to flow seamlessly from the heel to supination and then to pronation. The transverse arch plays a vital role in transferring energy, housing the bubbling spring. Viewing the foot in a complex manner or simply sensing the bubbling spring lends a unique perspective. Personally, I envision the spring akin to sparkling mineral water caressing my foot, ensuring my mindfulness. I've contemplated using a cooling gel like bio freeze or perhaps peppermint oil to further enhance my connection to this point.
